Choir
St Mark’s uses liturgy based on the prayer book and has a strong tradition of music in it’s worship at Sunday 8am.
The Choir sings each week to praise God through their music and to enrich the liturgy of the Sunday 8.00am sung communion. The Choir leads in singing the hymns, psalm, communion setting, and anthems. St Mark’s Choir is a member of RSCM Australia. Royal School of Church Music is an interdenominational association that aims to support and inspire church leaders, musicians and congregations in music in worship.
Book Club
Enjoy an informal social and stimulating discussion with enthusiastic readers in St Mark’s Book Club.
Held on Wednesday mornings in the Grosvenor room, about every month or so, the Book Club makes for a pleasurable morning, with lunch following at a nearby restaurant. New members are welcome!

Sunday@Home
On the first Sunday of each month, one of St Mark’s parishioners opens their home for lunch and a social get together.
Sunday@Home is a great opportunity for St Mark’s members to get to know each other over a light lunch and refreshments.
BuzyBeez
On the third Saturday of every month, a bunch of keen gardeners and cleaners get together to keep the Church grounds and buildings looking tidy and cared for.
Everyone is welcome to join this group, which includes a break for morning tea and a chat. Bring your own hat, sunscreen, gardening equipment and/or cleaning items. We meet at the front of the St Mark’s hall where everyone gets to choose a job.
Adult Street Library
Located in The Mall in front of the Church is a library full of books for adults who love books and reading. Our bookmarks invite you to TAKE A BOOK, GIVE A BOOK, SHARE A BOOK. We also have a library in the large hall to cater for all the adults that use the hall each week.
Bible Study
At St Mark’s all are encouraged to attend our small study groups to foster and develop our relationship with God and each other. We nurture our Christian journey through listening to God’s word, reflection, prayer and meditation. Doubts and questions are shared in an open and inclusive discussion in an atmosphere of trust.
Everyone is encouraged to enjoy life, honestly and compassionately, and to become the people that God wants us to be.
St James Institute
St James’ Institute is the education and formation program of St James’ Church, King Street, Sydney. The Institute provides a range of programs and other resources to enable people to explore the Christian faith, to develop their Christian faith, and to be informed, and engage in debate, about contemporary issues from a theological perspective. The overall aim is that members are informed, articulate and confident about our faith as Christians.
St James’ Institute programs are available to everyone – not just parishioners of St James’. For more information visit St James Insititute.
Bible Reading Fellowship (BRF)
Many of St Mark’s members subscribe to BRF and receive booklets every 4 months of daily readings with a short comment. The format is ideal for anyone wanting an accessible yet stimulating aid to spending time with God each day, deepening their faith and their knowledge of Scripture.
